The sessions took place at the College Hall, aimed at educating participants on measures to protect themselves and students in the line of their duty on issues related to COVID-19.
The Principal Dr A.M Mahlalela, in his opening address, said the training was designed for both teaching and non-teaching staff who continue to go above and beyond to protect the health and safety of staff and students, while also ensuring their own security.
The Principal also explained that this was done to prepare participants for the arrival of third year students to the campus. He advised personnel to be ethical when giving assistance to students and everyone.
Resource persons from the College trained participants on the Government’s standard protocols put in place for institutions of higher learning which include correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), screening at the various points of entry to campus, isolation protocols, hand sanitizers and the right-hand washing procedure. They were also educated on how to enforce all the necessary protocols to curb the spread of COVID-19
